I really did want to give this 5 stars, I was hooked from the very beginning and didnt want to stop. However as good as it was there were just something's that kept me from saying this was an outstanding novel. I felt like there were story lines built up quite a bit (Natalie, Sara, his mother, his fathers persistence) that just fizzled when fully revealed. I liked Austin and I was glad to see his POV so much and see that he really did like her from the get-go. She was a good character too, strong, independent, talented, and yet still held the very feminine passion and romance. It was a good book that I am very glad I read
Austin is the typical good looking jock who is the heart breaker on campus. He can -and does- get any girl he wants, but never really commits to them.

During one of his sexual encounters with a cheerleader, he's briefly interrupted by an attractive, athletic, yet nerdy girl named Jane. He's immediately attracted to her, but Jane puts up a shield and let's him know she's nothing like the other girls he's been with.

There are some steamy scenes between the two and after a week and 1/2 they fall in love (pretty darn quick one would say). Austin realizes Jane is the one who could change him and Jane realizes her bad boy isn't so bad after all.
First off, I added this to my YA shelf but just to clarify, I felt like it was more of a super spicy ya book rather than an erotic adult book. Maybe because the characters are in their very early twenties and still in college, but it just had more of a ya feel to it. That being said, it was a really good book! Austin was such a good bad-boy and Jane was such a bad good-girl! ) They were the perfect pair to compliment each other. The story was great and I really liked this author's style. Even though the length of this book was on the shorter side, there really wasn't anything left out. It worked and the epilogue was the perfect ending to wrap up the few loose ends I had. I will definitely add this to my re read shelf and be looking into Ms. James' other books!
Loved Austin and Jane....Austin is the campus man-whore who doesn't believe in love, thanks to his cheating, creepy father....He is "relationship challenged". Along comes Jane and everything changes. Austin is crazy scared, but Jane is dedicated to the cause of changing Austin's ideas on Love. The story has it's sexy scenes for sure, but overall it felt like a YA read to me, which is not my usual genre, but i loved this book just the same. I was rooting for them from the beginning and although you will want to smack Austin at times, he really is a loveable, sensitive, sweet guy. Jane was great too. It was great that there was NO CLIFFHANGER and the epilogue wrapped it all up nicely and i smiled when i was done. Nice escape from some of the angst and heavy reading i do mostly.
I would have never pictured Jane and Austin together, but they did end up making a cute couple. The parents in this book needed to let their children run their own lives, and make their own mistakes. As a parent, we don't want our children to get their hearts broken but we can't pick who they fall in love with either. I really enjoyed this book but there were times when I wanted to strangle Austin, and his father needed to be kicked in butt, well actually he needed more than his butt kicked. Well I'm glad they got their happy ending, and the careers they chose worked out. I read the Twisted series before this one, it was a little darker . Amelia, you did a great job, I can't wait to read more of your books.
As I always do I ended up reading Secret Storm (which is the book after this one) before I read this so I had an idea of how things would go. I loved Jane and Austin in Secret Storm and now I know why! Jane was a shy soccer player until Austin came along and broke her out of her shell. When he first comes into the picture you instantly hate his guts but after a while you can't help but love him. These two characters are almost total opposites but somehow make things work between them despite Austins past. He spent most of his childhood watching his Dad cheat on his mom and Austin swore not to ever hurt a woman that way. Even though he kept his relationships casual he realizes he still hurt the girls he was with. Somehow Jane gets under his skin and helps him grow into a better man as the story progresses. I absolutely fell for these two characters. Jane was strong and willful but she also kept Austin in line when he needed it and fought for what she wanted. Austin was a prick at first but once you peeled away the layers you started to see he was just screwed up from watching his parents flounder. The supporting characters Sara and Jack made me giddy because their book was just as good and seeing how things began was exciting! The writing was well done and the entire story was well paced and didn't rush anything to get to another part of the story. Last but not least I can't leave out the yummy sexy goodness in this book!

LOVE IT! The chemistry between Jane and Austin was palpable almost so much you could touch it. I loved watching Austin give in to his desire for Jane. They couldn't keep their hands off each other throughout the book and I loved every minute! Of course Austin has to overcome the stigma his Father has drilled into him and him and Jane face some trials but everything was wrapped up so nicely I want to turn right back around and start re-reading it again! I love the way the Author blends romance and sex with every page turned and keeps you hooked into the story with that mixture. She makes you root for the characters after you have fallen for them! I am torn between this being my favorite and loving Secret Storm beyond words! I'll take Jack and Austin any day of the week!
